2026 Summer Internship

Wonder Theatre is accepting applications for a 10-week, full-time summer internship.

Internship period: June 1 - August 7

The purpose of this internship is not only to offer an immersive and meaningful educational experience working with a nonprofit arts organization, but also to foster future leaders and potential employees for the arts sector in San Antonio.

Under the direct supervision of the Wonder Theatre Academy Director, the intern selected will be immersed in the day-to-day activities required to run an engaging, fun, and fast-paced summer arts program.

The goal is to not only give the intern a comprehensive, "behind the scenes" understanding of the commitment required and skills necessary to provide meaningful and challenging arts educational experiences, but also help a college intern achieve their learning goals and objectives through the process.

Among duties will be:

  • Assisting faculty with summer camp sessions

  • Leading warm-up activities

  • Running scenes, lines, music, and choreography

  • Guiding students on individual monologues and partner work

  • Offering assessment and critique of student performances

  • Assisting students with props, playbill, and costume design

  • Helping facilitate all summer camp productions, which will include: ushering, stage management, costume change assistance, make-up application, spotlight operations, prop management, sound board assistance, etc.

  • Light cleaning duties such as sweeping, taking out trash, etc.

To be eligible, applicants must be undergraduate college students attending a college or university. Students who have already earned a bachelor's degree are ineligible. Selected intern must pass a background check prior to working with students.
